APPLICATION FORM

Sales and Promotion Committee

Meetings every other Monday from 7 -8 PM

The MKT Sales and Promotions Committee heads the Wisconsin School of Business Pop-Up Shop, which stands as the exclusive seller of all business school apparel. Committee members will have the chance to touch a variety of areas that contribute to the operation and success of the store. These include product development, pricing analysis, supplier outreach and management, customer relations, omnichannel marketing, and promotional tactics.

Students will focus on finding new products for the school store that reach a market of both students and alumni, which involves a variety of price points and product choices. Managing the online store along with the physical pop-up shop in Grainger Hall will give students exposure to a variety of marketing channels that involve managing customers to promotional events.

Social Media Committee

Meetings every other Monday from 7 - 8 PM

The MKT Social Media Committee internally supports club-wide communications through social media. Committee members will get a chance to broaden their creativity and writing skills. Students will be in charge of brainstorming social media posts for Instagram and LinkedIn. Strategic planning, effective writing, and execution are important pieces in formulating club-wide communications. Learning how to create engaging social media content on multiple platforms is a useful skill for all marketers!

Consulting Committee

Meetings every other Monday from 7 - 8 PM

The MKT Consulting Committee provides marketing guidance and assistance to small businesses in Madison, so that these businesses are able to reach their marketing objectives. The goal of the committee is to give our members hands-on experience in applying their marketing knowledge to reach these set-out objectives. This committee will bring out the marketer inside members and will push them to think both strategically and creatively. Members will be required to attend bi-weekly meetings, complete their work in a timely matter, and should be able to work well with a team.

Past semester projects have included: developing a marketing strategy, establishing new distribution channels, promoting brand awareness and brand preference, implementing promotional events, and exploring different uses of media outlets for advertising. Past companies included Acclaim Energy Drink, Community Car, Flat Cola, as well as participation in case competitions.

 Networking & Events Committee

Meetings every other Monday from 7 - 8 PM

The MKT Networking & Events Committee assists in the planning process of various socials, volunteer opportunities, networking events, and the spring Chicago trip. During this trip, MKT members have the opportunity to travel together to Chicago and visit companies to learn more about their marketing programs and operations. Members will also assist in finding businesses to cater food for general member meetings and additional events.

Sponsorship Committee

Meetings every other Monday from 7 - 8 PM

The MKT Sponsorship Committee will mainly be responsible for acquiring and developing partnerships with businesses both locally and nationally. Through fundraising, sponsorships, donations, and various other creative options, as a team, we will brainstorm and be able to execute ideas that go beyond the student organization itself. This committee allows you to take the skills you learn in class and apply it in many different ways.

This is a great chance for you to enhance your team working skills, improve your communication skills in a more professional setting, add lasting connections to your network, and let your creativity shine!
